Berta Kaisr (She/Her)

Berta is a recent graduate from McGill University’s School of Urban Planning MUP Program.

Her work is largely oriented around local community engagement and participatory planning, with a focus on the relationships of immigrant communities, women, children and youth populations with the built environment.

She has contributed to community engagement in North York’s Jane Finch community as part of the Jane Finch Initiative, and on youth projects in Montreal’s Notre-Dame-de-Grâce neighbourhood as well as in her own Assyrian community in Toronto.

Having spent her childhood in Iraq and Syria, Berta has a passion for studying cities worldwide in order to understand the diverse ways in which people navigate their environments. She draws inspiration from global cities to cultivate resilient, inclusive communities for all.
