Juvarya has dedicated much of her career to helping purpose-driven organizations navigate climate transition.
With nearly 30 years of experience in sustainability, economic development, and climate change, she has held key leadership roles, including Chief of Strategy at InBC Investment, British Columbia’s $500-million impact investment fund, and Director of the Canada Climate Law Initiative at the University of British Columbia. She spent a decade working with cleantech entrepreneurs and local business owners while leading the City of Vancouver’s green economy and green jobs strategy. Previously, she helped shape municipal green building policies to support a zero-carbon built environment. Currently, as Senior Advisor at C40 Cities, she leads a global alliance of ports and cities advancing greener supply chains and sustainable trade.
Juvarya also brings extensive financial sector experience. She serves as a Board Director for Vancity Credit Union, Canada’s largest credit union, and advises Realize Capital Partners, a fund manager for the Government of Canada’s Social Finance Fund. She is also part of the leadership team at the Vancouver Maritime Centre for Climate.
She holds an MBA in Finance and Strategy from the University of British Columbia and a BA (Hons) in Economics and Sustainable Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, UK. Additionally, she holds the Global Competent Boards (GCB.D) ESG designation and the Global Association of Risk Professionals’ Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) certificate.
