Alex is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto’s department of Geography and Planning. He completed a two-year master’s program focused on analyzing a TTC proposed policy through the lens of transit equity and bus service prioritization for equity-seeking communities in Toronto.
Alex’s interest in cities and background in GIS, spatial analysis and data-driven research have allowed him to work on several different projects. These include cycling accessibility through perceived safety of bike infrastructure, a transit equity analysis of free transfers between Toronto and Mississauga, allocation of park space within Toronto, identifying equity-seeking transit riders using census and travel survey data, and policy analysis of ride-hailing firms in Canada’s three largest city regions.
Alex also has an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto Scarborough, with a double major in city studies and human geography and a minor in GIS.
What is your favourite way to spend a day in the city?
Walking around different neighbourhoods, or along the Humber river with my dog.
