Selena is a collaborative city-builder with a passion for equity and systems change. Selena has worked across sectors—most recently as Manager of Strategic Initiatives at United Way Greater Toronto and, before that, as Manager of Programs and Research at the University of Toronto’s Institute on Municipal Finance and Governance.
Prior to her involvement in cities, Selena worked in the non-profit sector providing support to Ontario’s migrant farmworkers, worked for the Cape Town local government on the impact of their urban agriculture policy on low-income families, and led an international health and youth empowerment charity out of Queen’s University. Selena was one of 25 rising leaders in the GTHA named a CivicAction DiverseCity Fellow in 2017. She holds a Master of Public Policy and Bachelor of Arts in Global Development Studies.
