Marcy has worked at the forefront of strategy, planning, and public policy for over two decades influencing transportation, land use, environmental, and economic development policy in city-regions across Canada. She is a champion of regional collaboration, respected for her ability to drive impact through cross-sectoral and cross-functional collaboration. She is deeply committed to developing the next-generation of city-builders through mentorship, partnerships, and her volunteer activities.
Marcy has worked in senior leadership roles across the public, private and non-for-profit sectors, most recently as Vice President, Transit Planning at Metrolinx where she oversaw program delivery of high profile initiatives such as the “One Fare” program, all transit project business cases, and the extension of the first GO Bus into First Nation communities, earning her two consecutive Metrolinx Excellence Awards for “ Making Significant Achievements Happen. Marcy co-chaired Metrolinx Women’s Network committee and co-led its marquee International Women’s Day event, creating sustainable networking and mentorship programs that elevated female leadership development and directly supported the next generation of women leaders.
Prior to joining Metrolinx, Marcy was the Vice President of the Economic Blueprint Institute (EBI), a strategic initiative of the Toronto Region Board of Trade with a mandate to strengthen and influence its regional policy agenda and member advocacy through data driven insights, leading to the first regional recovery plan and first regional recovery tracker post-pandemic.
Marcy also led the Neptis Foundation, a think tank whose research and programming has influenced significant provincial policy files. To broaden the impact of the Foundation’s research, Marcy led the conceptualization and development of the Neptis Geoweb, a unique web-based mapping and informatics tool used to inform engaged stakeholders and the public on complex regional policy matters.
Marcy holds a graduate degree in Geography from the University of Toronto and BA from University of Illinois, Chicago. She is a published author and volunteers her time at organizations that create positive impact and change.
