What We Heard

Improving the National Housing Strategy (NHS) is one of the National Housing Council’s 3 priority areas for 2021-22. As such, the Council commissioned the Canadian Urban Institute (CUI) to lead an engagement process with housing organizations, experts, and stakeholders from across the country to assess the effectiveness of the NHS to date and identify potential opportunities to better address core housing need and homelessness.  CUI has prepared a report entitled: What We Heard: NHS Programs – Engagement Summary.

The report summarizes what we heard during the engagement process with nearly 200 people who shared their ideas and insights through a survey and interviews, and another 200 people who attended panel discussions hosted by CUI with the participation of members of the working group on Improving the NHS.
