Housing Potential on Alberta’s Main Streets

Many of Alberta’s main streets have untapped potential to support new housing—within existing, serviced, and walkable communities.

Through the Housing Potential on Alberta Main Streets project, the Canadian Urban Institute will analyze under-utilized sites across 300+ municipalities and work directly with a small group of communities on in-depth case studies.

We are now inviting 3–5 municipalities to apply. Selected partners will receive detailed mapping, policy analysis, and quantified housing potential for key corridors.

There is no financial cost to participate beyond staff time. Learn more and apply through the links below.

This project is funded by the Alberta Real Estate Foundation.
